Pretty in Pink Ribbons
Welcome to Pretty In Pink Ribbons, a concept that was made into reality in
the Spring of 2003. In reaction to the fear and anger resulting from a close
family member being diagnosed with breast cancer, we decided to create
something positive and good from the diagnosis, a contest that would
encourage children, teens, and young adults to become actively involved
with a charity project related to the fight against breast cancer. This
contest gives younger people the ability to do their part in the safety of their
homes in the time that they can allot to participate. Equally, it also allows
the older kids and young adults the freedom to participate in a charity
project with as much time as they have or are willing to put into it. Although
originally directed to the attention of the pageant community, a wonderful
and caring bunch of people that we have been a part of for nearly 8 years
now, it is not pageant community specific and we invite everyone with a
reason to have an interest in breast cancer, charitable causes, or even to
win a crown, to participate.
